Looking Ahead: Bi+ Pride in 2026

6/20/2025

Picture
This year, the Bay Area Bi+ & Pan Network (BABPN) and the BiCONIC Film Festival team were unable to organize a contingent for the 2025 San Francisco Pride Parade. While we’re deeply proud of the work we’ve done in past years to bring visibility to the Bi+ community, a combination of limited capacity, competing commitments, and logistical hurdles meant we couldn’t bring it all together in time for this year’s march.

We know how important it is for Bi+ folks to be seen at Pride — not just as individuals, but as a community with our own voices, culture, and needs. Our presence matters, especially in a time when visibility and solidarity across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum are more critical than ever.

So while we may have missed the 2025 parade, we’re not stepping back — we’re stepping forward. We’re already setting our sights on 2026, with the goal of coming back stronger, more organized, and with even more space for joy, connection, and Bi+ brilliance.
If you're interested in helping us plan for 2026 — whether that's marching, helping with logistics, designing signs, or cheering from the sidelines — we'd love to hear from you. Together, we can build something beautiful.

Stay visible. Stay proud. Stay Bi+.

— The BABPN & BiCONIC Teams

We are not marching as a contingent in SF Pride this year [2024]

[SF Pride Contingent Update] We are not marching as a contingent this year. The only other contingent monitor had a family emergency and they will not be attending SF Pride now. With only two and now one contingent monitor, we will not be able to get our parade packet. If you are still looking for a contingent to march with, consider where you volunteer, or work, if they have a contingent, or the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Contingent.

I am sorry to have to cancel our contingent, but without more people willing to take the monitor training on YouTube and the short quiz through google docs we couldn't move forward.

We can now focus on Oakland Pride in the fall.

Thanks for being so understanding, and have a great Pride Week!

Wishing you all the best this Pride Season!

Thank you for marching with our groups in SF Pride!
We had a lot of folks marching with Still Bisexual and the Bay Area Bisexual+ and Pansexual Network! Everyone brought the energy and stamina to keep us going through the long wait in the fog, wind and sun. They raised their Lani Ka'ahumanu inspired Biphobia Shields high and made the crowd roar with delight. The mustachioed Freddie Mercury brigade was on point and the Bi Fieri was awesome.

Thank you Nicole, from Still Bisexual, for helping to organize and sticking with us as a driver with a clutch of steel, thank you Marisa for being the awesome person that you are and holding down the joint Bi+ Booth with Karen, thank you Carol Queen for your wheel monitoring, and thank you all of the amazing marchers and attendees who made SF Pride and all of Pride Week rock!

Calling Local Polyamorous Leaders!

Polyamorous people currently face discrimination around workplace, marriage/domestic partnership, childcare, and housing; And this will continue so long as polyamory is deemed immoral or deviant. Let's change that together!
The Polyamory Legal Advocacy Coalition is calling for local leaders and activists who are passionate about advancing Polyamory-friendly legislation in their Northern California communities!

Queer and BIPOC all the way to the front!

We're kicking off this initiative with a Zoom meeting on June 15. Come learn about our current advocacy strategy, what’s happening in cities across the US, and how you can get involved!

We will also feature a Q&A with Massachusetts City Council members involved in passing polyamory-affirming ordinances in their respective cities!

June 15, 7:30 – 9:30 PST

RSVP: [email protected] with Northern California in the subject line. In the email please let us know a little about your interest in polyamory advocacy and what city you hope to bring change to.

Host: Polyamory Legal Advocacy Coalition, a multi-disciplinary coalition of academic and legal professionals supported by the Harvard Law School LGBTQ+ Advocacy Clinic, Chosen Family Law Center, and APA Division 44 Committee on Consensual Non-Monogamy. We've helped pass polyamorous domestic partnership ordinances in Somerville, Cambridge, and Arlington, MA, and are organizing to support the passage of similar domestic partnership and anti- discrimination laws in Northern California.

Co-Hosts: This event is co-sponsored by: PolyActive, East Bay Polyamory Group, Bonobo Network, San Francisco Sex Positive Democratic Club, Bay Area Polyamory Collective, Bay Area Bi+ & Pan Network, forLove, Alt Parenting Bay Area.
