In 2025, we are proud to honor Juba Kalamka with the Dr. Maggi Rubenstein BiCONIC Visibility Award! Juba's decades of groundbreaking work as a spoken word artist, activist, and cultural organizer have helped expand Bi+ representation in music, media, and community spaces. His voice and vision continue to uplift and inspire generations of Bi+ people. 🌟 In grateful appreciation of his unwavering commitment to Bi+ visibility, justice, and joy. 🏆 Know someone who should be honored next? The nomination form for the 2026 award will open in early 2026 — keep an eye out for the button in upcoming newsletters! This year, the Bay Area Bi+ & Pan Network (BABPN) and the BiCONIC Film Festival team were unable to organize a contingent for the 2025 San Francisco Pride Parade. While we’re deeply proud of the work we’ve done in past years to bring visibility to the Bi+ community, a combination of limited capacity, competing commitments, and logistical hurdles meant we couldn’t bring it all together in time for this year’s march. We know how important it is for Bi+ folks to be seen at Pride — not just as individuals, but as a community with our own voices, culture, and needs. Our presence matters, especially in a time when visibility and solidarity across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum are more critical than ever. So while we may have missed the 2025 parade, we’re not stepping back — we’re stepping forward. We’re already setting our sights on 2026, with the goal of coming back stronger, more organized, and with even more space for joy, connection, and Bi+ brilliance. If you're interested in helping us plan for 2026 — whether that's marching, helping with logistics, designing signs, or cheering from the sidelines — we'd love to hear from you. Together, we can build something beautiful. Stay visible. Stay proud. Stay Bi+. — The BABPN & BiCONIC Teams [SF Pride Contingent Update] We are not marching as a contingent this year. The only other contingent monitor had a family emergency and they will not be attending SF Pride now. With only two and now one contingent monitor, we will not be able to get our parade packet. If you are still looking for a contingent to march with, consider where you volunteer, or work, if they have a contingent, or the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence Contingent. I am sorry to have to cancel our contingent, but without more people willing to take the monitor training on YouTube and the short quiz through google docs we couldn't move forward. We can now focus on Oakland Pride in the fall. Thanks for being so understanding, and have a great Pride Week! Wishing you all the best this Pride Season! Bi / Pan 45+ Women’s Community Gathering Please join us at our next gathering, Saturday, May 25th, 11 - 1. Thank you for marching with our groups in SF Pride! We had a lot of folks marching with Still Bisexual and the Bay Area Bisexual+ and Pansexual Network! Everyone brought the energy and stamina to keep us going through the long wait in the fog, wind and sun. They raised their Lani Ka'ahumanu inspired Biphobia Shields high and made the crowd roar with delight. The mustachioed Freddie Mercury brigade was on point and the Bi Fieri was awesome. Thank you Nicole, from Still Bisexual, for helping to organize and sticking with us as a driver with a clutch of steel, thank you Marisa for being the awesome person that you are and holding down the joint Bi+ Booth with Karen, thank you Carol Queen for your wheel monitoring, and thank you all of the amazing marchers and attendees who made SF Pride and all of Pride Week rock!
